baldur's gate 3 guide

In Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you may get caught up in a power struggle within the Guildhall between incumbent leader Nine-Fingers Keene and an uprising by the Zhentarim. Here’s an overview of the options when choosing sides in this conflict:

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Pick a Side in the Guildhall Conflict

The current leader is Nine-Fingers Keene, but the Zhentarim led by Roah want to overthrow him. You can side with the Zhentarim, stay loyal to Nine-Fingers, or kill both factions vying for control.

Choice 1: The Zhentarim Uprising

Roah is the Zhentarim leader, and she’s part of the Minsc story. The Absolute gives her a lot of gold to help Minsc escape from a trap set by Nine-Fingers. When you meet Roah, Minsc, and a fake Jaheira in the sewers, things get complicated.

Later in the Guildhall, Roah will ask you to join the Zhentarim. If you say yes, a big fight will start. You’ll have to fight against most of the Guildhall’s members. After you win, Roah will take charge, and she’ll give you a reward. This also means the Zhentarim will help you fight the Absolute later.

Choice 2: Sticking with Nine-Fingers

The Hidden Option: Defeating Both Factions

You can also decide to fight both the Zhentarim and Nine-Fingers. First, pick one side and then attack the other leader. After both sides are defeated, there won’t be a leader in the Guildhall, and some might ask you to lead.

But remember, this choice means you won’t get help from either group later in the game. You’ll stop both criminal groups, but it’s up to you to decide what’s best for your journey.

Consider your character’s motivations when picking sides in this key Baldur’s Gate 3 decision. Who you help take over the Guildhall impacts subsequent quests and relationships. Choose wisely!
